14 DAYS A CLASSIC SAFARI EXPERIENCE IN KENYA

Day 1: Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) your safari begins here. Our company representative will be waiting at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Boma Nairobi

 

Day 2: Discover Nairobi

Start with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum which is a set at the foot of the Ngong hills to learn about her works and time when she lived in Kenya. Then the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to watch a baby elephant play in the mud and feed. After this, proceed to the Giraffe centre for an experience feeding the giraffe up close and or even a giraffe kiss. The centre serves as a refuge for the endangered Rothchild’s giraffe. The tour will end with a visit to a craft centre where women make beautiful crafts and ceramic work. Dinner and overnight as above.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Samburu

After breakfast, you will drive to Samburu National Reserve and arrive at the Samburu Sopa Lodge or Ashnil Samburu Camp in time for lunch. Later you will go on an evening game drive and return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 4:  Transfer to Aberdare

After breakfast, drive to Aberdare National Park, a scenic journey through lush highlands and tea plantations. Arrive in time for lunch at a lodge such as The Ark  lodge or Treetop lodge, where you can spend the afternoon watching wildlife gather at the waterhole. Enjoy the cool mountain air and forested landscape as you relax and take in the unique setting. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

After early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru with packed lunch for a full day tour of the park. Flocks of greater and lesser flamingos are found on this Lake which turns it pink hence the nickname, the pink lake. It is also home to the endangered black and white Rhino, the big cats and other wildlife except the elephants. Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge

Day 6: Transfer to Maasai Mara

Depart Naivasha this morning and drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have lunch and brief rest. Later you will take your first thrilling evening game drive in the Maasai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa top safari destinations. Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Mara River Lodge, Maji Moto Eco Camp

 

Day 7 & 8: Game drives in Maasai Mara

Spend mornings and evenings for game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife park. The game drives take us in search of Africa’s big five and other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On one of the days, you have an opportunity to visit a Maasai village for an up-close experience with them to learn how they have co-existed with wildlife and join in their dance.

 

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Depart Nairobi this morning and transfer to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch. Check in, relax and have lunch. After lunch, visit Hell’s gate for a guided nature walk in the park. There is an option of a boat ride on lake Naivasha at an extra cost. Return to the lodge in the evening. Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp or Chui Lodge

 

Day 10: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Drive to Nairobi where you will be transferred by road to Amboseli. After short rest embark on a late afternoon tour of the park. Accommodation: Ol Tukai Lodge or Tortills Camp

 

Day 11: Game drive in Amboseli National Park

Spend the day exploring the park for opportunities of sighting different wildlife. This park is known for its large elephant herds and amazing views of the beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. Depending on the season of the travel, you can visit lake Amboseli which might have water to sight some amazing birdlife.

 

Day 12: Transfer to Tsavo National Park

After breakfast drive to Tsavo National Park which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants, the famous legendary man-eating lions of 1900s and other physical attractions like the Aruba dam. You will also have a chance to see the red elephants and many types of flora and fauna. Accommodation: Finch Hattons Luxury Camp or Severin Safari Camp

 

Day 13: Game drive at Tsavo National Park

Today your tour guide will pick you up early to start the day on a game drive in this semi-arid area which will bring you close to the wildlife in their natural habitat. Look out for the dust red elephants in this vast park. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon or return for an evening game drive before nightfall.

 

Day 14: Departure

This marks the end of your safari, check out of the lodge and transfer back to Nairobi for departure flight at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
