Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Days Tarangire, Lake Natron, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania
You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your guide meets you and transfers you to your lodge in Arusha. Enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by gardens and mountain views as you rest before your safari begins. Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge or Summit Lodge Arusha
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Land of Giants
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, a haven for elephants, lions, giraffes, and hundreds of bird species.
You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive through scenic acacia woodlands and baobab-filled savannahs, with a picnic lunch by the river. Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge
Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Natron – Journey into the Rift Valley
Leave the typical safari path and travel northeast to the striking landscapes of Lake Natron. This remote area is home to volcanic scenery, flamingos, and Maasai communities. Arrive in the afternoon and relax or explore a nearby waterfall. Overnight: Lake Natron Camp or Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge
Day 4: Lake Natron Exploration – Flamingos & Falls
Wake up to a pink lake rimmed with flamingos, and take a guided walk to discover the salt flats and natural springs. Later, hike to Ngare Sero Waterfalls, a refreshing oasis hidden in a canyon, and enjoy the raw beauty of the area. Overnight: Same as previous night
Day 5: Lake Natron to Serengeti – Wild Trails to Endless Plains
Travel west through the Loliondo wilderness into Serengeti National Park. This remote route is teeming with wildlife and offers beautiful vistas. Enter the Serengeti for a sunset game drive en route to your camp in the heart of the savannah. Overnight: Serengeti Heritage Camp or Serengeti Serena Safari lodge
Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti – Safari at Its Finest
Enjoy a full day of game drives in the legendary Serengeti. Follow big cats on the hunt, elephants moving across plains, and possibly witness the Great Migration (seasonal). Picnic lunch in the bush completes the classic safari experience. Overnight: Same as previous night.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater – Highland Escape
After a morning game drive, depart the Serengeti and ascend into the Ngorongoro highlands. Stop for stunning views over the crater rim and settle into your lodge. Enjoy dinner overlooking one of the most dramatic landscapes in Africa. Overnight: Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge
Day 8: Ngorongoro to Arusha – Down into the Wild
After breakfast, descend 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in this World Heritage Site. Spot black rhinos, hippos, lions, and an amazing variety of wildlife. After lunch, drive back to Arusha for your flight or overnight stay.
