Best routes for Self Drive in Uganda

Every year, thousands of tourists flock to Uganda to view the abundance of flora and fauna on offer. South western Circuit

The southwest is known for its green rolling hills, lakes, chimps and the rare mountain gorillas. Start from Kampala or Entebbe and and get up close and personal with your hairy relatives during this exciting self Drive through southwestern Uganda. Trek gorillas and chimps in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Kibale National Park, Enjoy games drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

North East circuit

Great for those looking for an off the beaten track adventure with their car hire in Uganda. See the river Nile explode in Murchison Falls National Park, continue further north and experience murram road from Kitgum to Kidepo which is a perfect destination for self-drive as private touring is expensive there and there’s lots of variety. You will drive into the hills and pass through a valley of stunning beauty, discover traditional tribal culture in Karamoja, cool off in the highlands of Mount Elgon and finish off with a blast in Jinja, wild water rafting on the Nile.

Mount Elgon – Moroto – Kotido to kidepo Road

The karamoja stretch is the most endowed route in Uganda culturally and the ever improving road, graded and paved in some areas truly defines Africa and a hidden treasure. Starting from mount Elgon, through Pian Upe, Kotido and finally leading to the Hidden treasure of the wilderness, Kidepo Valley National Park. The cultural encounters in kotido would lead you visiting the biggest cultural manyata village and different karimojong people.
