14 DAYS SELF DRIVE ACROSS TANZANIA AND KENYA

Day 1: Nairobi Lake Naivasha

This safari begins with a drop off of a car by our company representative from your hotel in Nairobi or from the airport.  Embark on journey to Lake Naivasha all situated in the Great Rift Valley region. You will be in Lake Naivasha, proceed to check in your lodge for lunch and later on enjoy an optional afternoon boat cruise to view plenty of aquatic wildlife including Hippos, crocodiles and lots of water birds. You will then retire to your lodge for dinner and have a night rest at your reserved lodge at the hotel. Overnight at Naivasha Crescent Camp

Day 2 & 3: Masai Mara

Enjoy a full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 06h30 Considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 650 square miles of the Masai Mara adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one ecosystem. The open, rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topi, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plains and seek out new grazing areas. Have all meals and your overnight stay at the lodge. Overnight at Rover Public Campsite

Day 4: Maasai Mara – Serengeti

After breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up and transfer you to the Kenya Tanzania border, Immigration procedure and change of vehicles. Our driver-guide on the Tanzanian side will pick you up. You will be transferred to the lodge or camp to arrive in the afternoon. You have time to relax and freshen up after a short siesta, and then enjoy the 16h00 game drive. Serengeti is the most famous of Tanzania’s national parks and is known for its large number of grazing mammals, including 1.5 million wildebeest. Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word Serengeti, meaning “wide open space”. You will have dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge. Overnight at Seronera Public Campsite

 

Day 5: Full Day Serengeti National Park Game Drive 

Start your day with an unforgettable sunrise game drive across the Serengeti. See the sun set fire to the savannah as predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning meal. After your breakfast, you’ll take a packed lunch and proceed for a day long game drive through the park. Your driver will pick a route designed to ensure you have the best possible chance of spotting the Big Five and the Wildebeest Migration. overnight at Seronera Public Campsite

 

Day 6:  Serengeti -Ngorongoro

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park then later proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation area with a game Drive along the way. After the thrills of the day, you will head to your campsite.  Overnight at Simba Campsite A

Day 7: Ngorongoro

Taking picnic lunch with you, you will descend into the floor of the 8th Wonder of the World and thereby embark on a game safari. Look out for the big 5 – Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards, and Buffaloes. Other game includes wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elands, and hyenas among others. The soda lakes of Ngorongoro are the breeding grounds of thousands of

flamingoes and other water birds such as ducks, waders, and herons.  Overnight at Simba Campsite A

 

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Tarangire

After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is famed for the largest elephant herds in Africa. And home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and Ashy Starlings. Overnight: Lemiyon Special Campsite or Tarangire Public Campsite no. 1

 

Day 9: Tarangire

Once inside the park, you’ll see the eponymous Tarangire river lined with acacia and Baobab where game amble to and fro throughout the day. During the dry season, thousands of animals from the Masai steppe migrate to the Tarangire region looking for water so you can see dozens of different species in a small amount of time.  Exclusive to the park are endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and the Ashy Starling.  Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s picnic areas and take in an unparalleled view of the Tarangire River.

 

Day 10: Tarangire – Arusha – Departure

After breakfast head back to Arusha at the end of the 10 days Tanzania and Kenya Tour for your departure flight back home.
