Day 1: Kampala/ Entebbe to Jinja
Upon Arrival at Entebbe international Airport, the team of Self drive East Africa will be at the arrivals waiting for you to hand over the Ugandan Registered rental car, orient you about the 4×4 jeep , and driving rules, activity confirmation vouchers and start your 4×4 to head to jinja city which is the old industrial city during the 1980s. Recommended accommodation include 2 friends , Nile Raft Camp , Lake Victoria Resort hotel. All these Hotels are offering Bed and breakfast.
Day 2: White water rafting in Jinja
You will be picked up by Nile White rafting from your accommodation and transfer to the start point for the rafting destination and where you will participate in full day Water Rafting on the Nile , later in the evening you will return to the accommodation for overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Sipi Falls
After morning boat cruise to visit the source of the Nile , you will start on the drive to Mount Elgon National Park borderlines where sipi falls are located and you will spend the night in the nearby accommodations awaiting for the next day visit to the water falls and nature walk around the local community where you will see various cultural experiences with local guides.
Day 4: Hike to the sipi and nature walk plus Cultural experiences

Day 5: Proceed to Pain Upe Game reserve and enjoy evening game drive
After morning breakfast , you will set off and start driving heading to the northern Uganda ( Pain Upe Game Reserve ) which is now a National Park as it hosts the best landscapes like that of Kidepo Valley National Park. When it comes to nature and scenic view then consider a stop over in Pian upe game reserve while on self drive Safari . You will have evening game drive in Pain Upe and return to the camp site for overnight – UWa Bands
Day 6: Morning Game drive and proceed to Moroto
After your breakfast set off for a morning game drive in the savanna plain to search for a reserved residents such as cheater, kobs, Roan Antelopes, the Elands, Zebra, Oribis, Hertbeests, Bufaloes, Impalas and many others, return for a lunch proceed to drive to moroto town staying with Karatunga Guest which is the company known for offering visit a local Karamoja close to the park for a rare cultural experience in dance and drama performances and also be able to learn from the community.
Day 7: Karamajongo cultural experience with Karatunga
You will go for detour to Nakaperumoru to meet the Jie warriors with Karatunga Foundation, a community enterprise supporting the Karamoja region,you will stay with the community the entire day and in the evening you can go for the community night dance in the local villages.
Day 8: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Break camp at dawn for early morning game drive to depart Kidepo. Head south into the Karamoja region and the cultural lands of the Karamajong. Magical landscapes with rock outcrops and volcanoes rising out of the Savannah plains and everywhere the villages and ornate bomas of the Karamojong.
Day 9: Game drive
Depart to explore the Kidepo Valley. Apart from the magnificent scenery and the sense of truly vast African skies, this is perhaps the richest populated wildlife park in Uganda offering abundant antelopes, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and water buffalos as well as lions and a possibility of leopards and cheetahs.
Arrive at Apoka, the park HQ for lunch, then continue to Kakine Lookout for a wild camp with a 360 view over the savannah plains of Kidepo Valley below. Relax in the late afternoon, taking in the scene and preparing for a wonderful sunset. Dinner and drinks around the campfire under some of the brightest stars in Africa.
Day 10 : Game drive and proceed to Acaki Guest house in Kitugum
Dawn game drive, returning to the hunting grounds and stop for breakfast by the Nile.
Continue across the park on tracks especially renowned for elephant. Depart heading for Gulu for lunch and a quick re-supply.
Continue across the north of Uganda to the remote and wonderful Kidepo Valley National Park, rated by CNN as the second-best park in the whole of Africa. This is a great journey by road and then track, through remote villages and an ever-changing landscape to finally arrive for a relaxing lodge night at Kidepo Savannah Lodge —a luxury safari banda overlooking the valley with a spectacular hilltop restaurant to relax and unwind.
Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Day 12: Game drive and boat cruise
Breakfast at Red Chili followed by a relaxing boat safari to the base of the powerful Murchison Falls. Spectacular wildlife on the Nile banks include elephants, hippos, water buffalos, and birdlife: kingfishers, weaver birds, and fish eagles.
Short transfer to the famous Paraa Lodge for lunch and a relaxing midday break around the pool overlooking the Nile.
Depart mid-afternoon for a game safari with ranger through savannah plains towards the Nile Delta with Lake Albert. Sight the camp and proceed for an evening game drive through the hunting grounds – a great opportunity to see lion and leopard at work.
Return to camp for BBQ and drinks around the campfire. This is wild camping: but we have a hot shower and a folding toilet seat! Welcome to Africa!
Day 13: Hike to the top of the falls and transfer to ziwa
Morning rhino tracking with a trained guide. You’ll walk with the rhinos and learn about the inspirational program to reintroduce the white rhino into the parks of Uganda.
Depart Ziwa and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the top of the falls, the most powerful on earth, with the River Nile squeezed through a narrow 7-meter wide gap. Late lunch overlooking the Nile rapids.
Short hop from the falls to the Red Chili Restcamp to camp for the night. Chill out in the bar and restaurant with a lodge fire overlooking the Nile basin.
Day 14: Rhino Tracking and Proceed to Kibale Forest National Park
Day 15: Chimpanzee Tracking and afternoon visit to the craters
Short transfer to Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee trek. Head down into the gorge with trained guides and track the chimpanzees as they play and forage for food along the river banks or in the tree canopy above.
Depart Queen Elizabeth heading north for lunch at Fort Portal and continue through tea plantations and undulating hills to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Camp for the night in the Ziwa campground with a campfire, dinner, and drinks. If you’re lucky, the rhinos will graze around the (reinforced!) campground fence in the evening or early morning.
Day 16: Transfer to Queen Elixabeth Naitonal Park with stop over at the equator line
Dawn game drive through Ishasha and then journey on to the Kazinga Channel at the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Relaxing boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a great way to see the wildlife, aquatic and birdlife along the banks including elephants, water buffalos, and hippos as well as kingfishers, weaver birds, and fish eagles.
Lunch at the community boat dock then walk it off with a short trek between the magnificent twin crater lakes at Kichwambiya, with afternoon tea at the viewpoint.
Late afternoon game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and check-in to luxury banda at Bush Lodge, overlooking the Kazinga Channel.
Day 17: Game drive and boat cruise on the channel
Day 18: Game drive in Ishasha Sector
Transfer to Buhoma Gorilla HQ for briefing, cultural dancing, and then a trek through the forest to see the mountain gorillas. This is an unforgettable experience to spend an hour with our close cousins in their natural habitat.
Returning from the trek, rejoin the truck and continue on the forest trail for a guided game drive at Ishasha Wildlife Reserve, part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Abundant wildlife including elephants, kob, topi, hippos, and water buffalos, and home to the unique tree-climbing lions.

Day 19: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Game safari through Lake Mburo, featuring a cooked breakfast at Kazuma Lookout with spectacular views over the park.
Depart Lake Mburo heading southwest to Kabale – the “Switzerland of Africa” – for a scenic lakeside drive and late lunch at Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest and most beautiful lakes in Africa with a rich and mystical history.
Continue into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest on spectacular mountain trails to Buhoma to camp at Ruhondeza Lodge with dinner, drinks, campfire, and prep for the gorilla trek early next morning.
Day 24: Bicycle Ridding and Proceed to Mabamba swamp
Meet and brief at your hotel and then get stuck in with a short transfer to the busy fishing village of Nakiwogo. Short ferry crossing on Lake Victoria for a boat safari with a specialist birding guide to Mabamba Swamp and a chance to see the legendary shoebill stork – an introduction to Uganda’s fabulous birdlife.
Continue to the equator for lunch and then on to Lake Mburo National Park, one of the smallest of Uganda’s National Parks but a real gem. You’ll see impalas, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, water buffalos, elands, waterbucks, and if lucky, leopards.
Camp in style down by the lake with the hippos and a ranger – an introduction to our unique camp set up. Listen to them chuckling all night but watch out for the cheeky monkeys in the morning!
Day 25: Shoebill watching and Drop to Entebbe.
